I was fortunate to be managed by a great guy named Andy Slater a while back, who also managed the Beastie Boys, Warren Zevon, Don Henley, the Wallflowers & others.
We did some sessions on my songs with Zevon and Henley's band at A&M Records, and also with Zevon and Adam Yauch on bass & Mike D on drums, at the Beastie Boys' studio, which turned out to have a great feel and sound. Adam and Mike were both a couple years older, had way more experience and were patient, kind, helpful, encouraging and hard working. Warren was of course the consummate professional and the wise father figure who had greater insights to my function than i knew then. He is missed terribly by so many. I am really sad to hear of Adam's passing today. He was respectful, solid and brought a cool calm to everything. He will be so sorely missed as much. Rest in peace, Adam.
