My Historucal Info

I come from two prominent Scottish-American Emigrant family lines; Highland Fraser & Noble on my dad’s side, where you’d find Sir Simon Fraser, who fought for William the Conqueror, and a next Sir Simon who fought along side William Wallace. My Great Grandfathers Robert Gordon Fraser and Mark C. Noble were Washington Timber Growers who popularized the common Christmas Fraser Fir & Noble Fir Trees we all buy today. They were also Masons. On my mom’s side are Scottish Lowland Hodge, Tate and Dutch Newkirk with Mayflower Descendants, founders of the Dutch Reformed Lutheran Church in the Colonies, signers of the Declaration of Independence, Daughters and Sons of the Revolution, & America’s longest serving Soldier in its history, General Winfield Scott, who conceived the strategy that defeated the Confederacy, in the historical event from which we get the exclamation, “Great Scott!” This history is my deeper self and taught me family, God, work & love. I started young, artistically, as a Singer, Violinist, Poet & Painter.

Early on, in Seattle, represented by Tish Lopez, at The Actors Group, I landed roles in Seattle films like Street Kid child abuse drama, Choices, by Writer/Producer Maria Gargiulo, and films He’s No Hero and The Can, with Fiance Sheryl Lee (Twin Peaks Laura Palmer). I also won roles in L.A. films shooting in Seattle, like The Chocolate War as Emile Janza, for Director Keith Gordon, with John Glover, Wallace Langham, Bud Cort & Adam Baldwin. I was then noticed by the Los Angeles film community. At 21, I took the suggestion of Casting Director Cathy Henderson, who cast me in Class Of 1999, & I moved south, sadly leaving Sheryl & best friends Billy Burke & Jeffrey Dean Morgan, with just my guitar, a duffel of clothes & books & $200.00.

I still say today that Cathy Henderson single-handedly started my professional career in L.A. as my manager, letting me sleep on her couch, securing an agent, Camden Artists Merritt Blake, & lead role auditions for me. Luckily I grabbed up starring roles in independent features like Jezebel’s Kiss, with Malcolm McDowell, also in Class of 1999, Meg Foster, Meredith Baxter & Everett McGill of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks & a cameo in Wild at Heart, AGAIN also with Sheryl. I got TV shows the Disney Channel’s Spooner with Robert Urich, Jane Kaczmarek, Barry Corbin & Breakfast Club’s Paul Gleason. Also, ABC’s Plymouth with Cindy Pickett & Perrey Reeves, becoming my next long romance, all of which got me firmly settled as a working L.A. industry resident. I was later re-joined by Jeffrey & Billy & also Sheryl (on/off) loved the idea of sharing my good fortune. Cathy Henderson then came to represent Sheryl with Merritt Blake. With the added help of Eliza Simons-Roberts, everyone around became able to establish their own footings, to varying degrees, crashing at my house and staying in L.A. permanently. I was glad.

Sheryl had broken our engagement, so I entered the young Hollywood dating scene, coupling with talented beauties Carmen Squire, Maya McLaughlin, long term girlfriend Perrey Reeves, Alyssa Milano, Alicia Coppola, Ana Debasa, Alicia Coppola, Brenda Price and second Fiance, Emmy Award winning actress, Roxana Zal, with who I became engaged the for the second time. I was also later engaged a third time to Melanie Random, daughter of Mega Media Psychiatrist, Dr. David Viscott. I had come to be managed by long time friend, Eliza Simons-Roberts, wife of Eric Roberts, who was immeasurably helpful to my career and still is. Through her, in 1989, I met long time pals, Actors Peter Dobson, Damon Martin, and Actor/Writer/Producer Sasha Jenson, with whom I became roommates over the course of 5 years or so. Many girlfriends comment on my three engagements & confirmed Bachelorhood saying, “He acts like he's dodging bullets".

Originally dubbed the “Dobson House”, and the “Woodrow Wilson” house, interchangeably, after its street address, where Petey, Sash, and Damon lived, it was the legendary party house for all of “Young Hollywood” in the nineties, regularly in attendance were the likes of Balthazar Getty, Traci Lind, Eric Dane, Shon Greenblatt, Rodney Harvey, Emily Lloyd, Lori and Robyn Lively, Jason Schombing, Josh Charles, Ami Dolenz, Adrian Pasdar, Nicole Eggert, Loren Dean, Kane Picoy, Amanda Anka, Jeremy Sisto, Drew Barrymore, Claire Forlani, Perrey Reeves, Lara Flynn Boyle, Alyssa Milano, Roxana Zal, Shannen Doherty, and Charlotte Lewis.

My career’s been guided by Andy Slater, now President of Capitol Records, Jenny Price, at Atlantic Records, Italian Pier Forlani & VH1 Exec. Leah Horwitz. I’ve had development deals & gratis sessions, at A&M Records, with Warren Zevon & Don Henley’s band. Zevon and I also recorded with Adam Yauch, & Mike D, at the Beastie Boys’ studio. Randy Jackson set long term studio use at Sony. Leah Horwitz while at Zoo Records recorded me too. I co-wrote European radio hits, Inside a Flower, Tell Me, & So Delicate So Pure, with Italian Pop Star, Elisa & Corrado Rustici, for Sugar Universal, Italy.

My Concept CD, Albion Moonlight and the Sea of Troubles, uses poetry, sound design & images, & is often compared to Pink Floyd & David Bowie. Its songs are in FOX TV’s Party of Five & the films Broken Vessels & Crimes of the Past. Dark Side of Genius and Fame L.A. use my songs too. On Fame L.A. I sang songs of Mark Cohn, Vonda Shepard, Amy Grant & Tara MacLean. I worked with Legendary Jack Douglas toward re-mastering Albion with a view to new works. I have been wildly fortunate, and though it hasn’t all gone by my “plan”, as evidenced in my living on my family’s ranch, near San Juan Capistrano for five years, as a Hand, shoveling shit & driving a dump Truck at a Horse Boarding Ranch. I’ve learned to make “adjustments” that work today.

My friend, late Guitar Hero Derek Frigo, son of Violin Virtuoso Johnny Frigo & Guitar Hero of the Chicago band Enuff Z Nuff and I formed band, U4EA, until his death in 2004. His talent lives on in the U4EA songs, found on CDBaby. I wrote for the T. Schools Experience, produced by Frigo, & co-wrote five songs with Joey Molland & T. Schools on Schools & Molland's 2008, Wear a New Face, featuring Rick Anderson & Joe Savage. Our band album, U4EA on album - Every Lie, is made of thirteen rare, previously unreleased songs, found on CDbaby. I have most recently co-written on "Wear a New Face" by Joey Molland & Tim Schools. Molland is most known for Legendary band, Badfinger. It’s an experiment, based on the idea of artists painting on the same work, but feeling that it belongs to each. Hear them on Reverbnation.com.

I came back to Seattle in early 2008, forming Lawton Wood Media with Garrett Bennett. I am seen recently in SHUFFLE written & directed by Bennett, & producing the In Our Blood trilogy, with Garrett, courting pals, Jeffrey Dean Morgan & Billy Burke.

I’m still a member of the Clan Fraser Association for California, established in 1964 by my family, under official charter by the late Lord Lovat, Simon Christopher Joseph Fraser, Chief of Clan Fraser, & bold WWII Lovat Commando Hero. I’m a Fellow of “The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland” & a poor student of Gaelic.
